At least one al-Shabaab fighter has been killed in strikes in Southern Somalia.
In a statement on Monday, Somali ministry for information said in cooperation with US AFRICOM, the Somali government conducted two strikes in Kunya-Barow town.
“These persistent precision airstrikes killed one al-Shabaab terrorist and wounded two other terrorists,” he said.
The ministry confirmed that no civilians are assessed to have been killed or injured in the attack.
US military confirmed the attack saying they conducted two airstrikes targeting al-Shabaab terrorists.
In a statement, the US military said US Africa Command is focused on support to the Federal Government of Somalia and helping them end al-Shabaab‘s brutal ambitions and treatment of the Somali people.
